Ban whale shark hunting! July 16, 2006
Whale shark hunting has been banned in Taiwan - but only for the rest of
2006.
This is a great development in one of the main locations where whale shark
hunting continues, but it’s still permitted in 2007 and beyond. Most
countries have stopped legalised killing of this threatened species.
International pressure is needed to make this as global ban.
